Hot Spot: Lazy Dayz Hookah Lounge

The holidays are such a stressful time. Running around trying to find the best gifts for all those loved ones and then spending money on top of that; the madness doesn’t seem to end. Well Lazy Dayz is here to help. The Lazy Dayz Hookah Lounge on 21st street on Colley Ave in Norfolk provides a calming atmosphere with great people.
The chain Lazy Dayz was created by three local college students who wanted to spread the traditionally Arabic hookah experience with a more modern crowd. They converted an old laundry mat into a new hip place to hang out and relax.
Hookah originated in Ottoman coffee shops as a way to meet socially and discuss the day’s news. Today, that experience is one in the same only geared towards college students and the night life. The hookah itself is filtered by water and smokes flavored tobacco or commonly known as shisha. The flavors range from normal flavors such as strawberry and apple to mixtures of mint and chocolate. There is a flavor of shisha for every smoker.
Even for non-smokers the experience at Lazy Dayz has been remarkable. The comfy couches and modern “chill-out” music keeps everyone interacting and meeting new fun and interesting people. The prices aren’t outrageous either! Starting at $8.75, there are four different brands of top quality shisha to choose from. There is no limit on the number of people to one hookah and the price of the hookah comes with as many coals as needed. Lazy Dayz also offers Pepsi products to have on the side to drink or to put in the base of the hookah to add a new flavor to the mix.
The lounge in the heart of Ghent opened in May 2010 and offers hookah merchandise including hookahs, shisha flavors, hookah accessories such coals, cloves, tobacco products, and Lazy Dayz merchandise.
Lazy Dayz is evolving everyday with a front porch to smoke on, movie nights, and local art covering the walls and adding to the overall relaxing and creative atmosphere. Come out and enjoy an evening of interactive servers, great music, delicious flavors, and relaxation. College students and customers must bring ID to verify the 18 years+ policy. Escape the mayhem and enjoy the Lazy Dayz experience.
