Mother’s Day…

What Mother’s Day is:

A day to remember those who are blessed with the most rewarding job in the whole wide world!
A day to celebrate all the amazing women who have devoted their lives to rearing their children.

A day to pamper and mollycoddle Moms with gifts, chocolates and love…

What Mothers’ Day is not:

A day to reminisce in guilt about all the times we were less-than-perfect Moms.

I hear a lot of my Mom friends say… “oh Mother’s Day…it’s just another day to me…”

Listen Moms, we are ALL less-than-perfect parents. We have all yelled at our children more than we’ve liked, lost our temper, patience, keys, minds and even our children for a second. We are all in the same boat that’s barely staying afloat so don’t let any of those other Moms at the Mom-and-Me activities fool you. They are just as imperfect as you and I. There are NO exceptions here.

Don’t let this Mother’s Day go by with you sitting in the corner of shame while others swagger by with their perfect Mommy lifestyles…

Get out there and eat your chocolates with a rose pinned to your shirt. Be proud of who you are! You are a Mom! A perfectly imperfect woman who loves her children! A Mom who forgot to pack a diaper and clean the kids face. A Mom who shows up with spit-up down her back wearing your daughter’s fluorescent hair band because you forgot it was there. The Mom who shows up with a dried blueberry on your forehead and have no idea how it got there or how long it’s been…

Get out there and enjoy your Mother’s Day even if it’s chaotic and unplanned. Celebrate being a part of this amazingly, beautiful, god-given duty! Enjoy all the little things that Motherhood brings…

before they are not even there anymore…

Happy Mother’s Day to all those beautiful Moms!
