During this time in Suffolk, folks get a little nutty for the Annual Suffolk Peanut Festival. The four-day event will feature family activities, concerts, a demolition derby, motorcycle rally, amusement rides, contests, a truck and tractor pull, fireworks, and more.
Pre-festival Events: The festival will kick off with a Queen’s Luncheon on September 27, and the Suffolk on the Move 5k Run, and Peanut Fest Parade in downtown Suffolk on September 29.
For the Children and Families: Several family-friendly activities including a carnival with a Ferris wheel will delight thrill-ride enthusiasts. If you prefer leisure activities, take part in the Peanut Toss or ride the Express Family Train. Animal adventures will be plentiful by way of pony, camel, and monster truck rides.
Food-related Activities: What would a festival be without food? Check out the Jalapeno Eating Contest or head over to the Words Only Peanut Butter Sculpture Contest. Treat your entire family to a meal at the Suffolk Ruritan Club Shrimp Feast.
Special Events: Derby automobiles, trucks, tractors, and motorcycles will keep you occupied. Enjoy a constant stream of exhilarating vehicular acts such as the Nationwide Demolition Derby, Big Daddy’s Motorsports 250 Truck and Tractor Pull, and the Suffolk Swamp Roar Motorcycle Rally.
Musical Entertainment: Catch one of the many musical bands scheduled to perform. Enjoy acts that feature bluegrass, gospel, blues, and more or participate in a karaoke competition for a chance to win cash prizes.
