If you have been keeping up with the latest news out of Busch Gardens Williamsburg, the theme park announced its newest coaster set to debut in Spring 2017. Thinking outside the box, the beloved theme park is building the world’s first “crowdsourced” coaster, allowing fans to help shape the project from naming to theming elements. Inviting fans to take an active part in “deciding the ride,” Busch Gardens held a naming contest with Invadr taking the top spot. Continuing the inclusion, fans were also allowed to submit their names to be added to the construction wall.
Keeping fans engaged and informed with the progression of the project, Busch Gardens has been regularly updating a webpage dedicated to Project 2017 with blog posts. They have shared an exciting animated first look at InvadR, which you can watch below.
Keeping the tradition of a family oriented atmosphere, InvadR will allow children 46 inches or taller to enjoy the ride with their families. But not wanting to be pigeon-holed as a kiddie-ride, Larry Giles, vice president of engineering, advises to not let your guard down; Invadr will feature a 74-foot drop and 9 airtime hills. You can read the rest of InvadR’s facts below.
